Iver R Eide started extracion of marble in Visnes producing blocks at 1904. His sons Karl and Olav continued the business. Today the fourth and fifth generations are working at the company.

At first there was a lot of heavy manual labour

In 1932 the company started processing waste material from the block production. The new product was used as a base material for terazzo casting. Since 1952 the company has concentrated on crushing and sieving of marble products for various uses, such as surface-washed concrete, as a raw material for glassproduction, for the paper industry, as limestone for agricultural use, for water filters, blasting media and for the concrete industry.
